I can only answer the first question. All drillings are accurate. If you no longer remember how to remove the fronts and the railing, feel free to ask.

miss-marple1 Oct 2013 14:37Hello everyone,
Regarding the Metod launch in the Netherlands, I unfortunately don’t have much more information than what I’ve already shared. The visit to IKEA showed, as I mentioned before, that there will be no changes this year.
So for those who want to take advantage of the proximity to the border or the upcoming autumn holidays:
Norje is the most affordable in the Netherlands,
and you can also still find RAMSJÖ in black there.
I noticed that on all additional catalogs except for the main one, it says prices in the Netherlands are valid only until the end of December 2013.
However, I only realized this once I got home; otherwise, I would have asked again. Since likely not all areas (Besta, cabinet series, and bathroom furniture) will undergo a system change, the price validity shown on the kitchen catalog could mean everything or nothing, at least as far as Metod is concerned.
As for our decision regarding the kitchen fronts, the discussion is still ongoing.
Best regards

The Dutch kitchen catalog states on the front that prices are valid through December 31, 2013. ?!

miss-marple1 Oct 2013 16:04Hi,
I need, or rather want, new cabinet fronts. I have had the kitchen since 2004, but back then I chose the cheapest option, the Ärlig fronts. I never really liked them and would have preferred the Abstrakt fronts at the time. However, with three young children, we didn’t want to spend too much on a kitchen and weren’t sure about the quality of the Ikea carcasses, hinges, and drawers. We had doubts that, in everyday use, have not been confirmed.
Also, I didn’t want Whirlpool appliances.
So, if I don’t want to grow old with Ärlig, I need to act before the introduction of Metod. Besides, the dishwasher and the sink cabinet fronts have water damage and really need to be replaced anyway.
Best regards

Sektionschef2 Oct 2013 07:18Alright, you already wrote that, I didn’t read everything.
In our case, I actually prefer Stat, but my wife likes Lidingö better.
So, we will choose Lidingö in white.
How durable it will be in practice remains to be seen. At least, we have not planned any immediate overhead cabinets above the range hood, which is the most critical area for the kitchen fronts.
You could try entering your kitchen layout in the IKEA kitchen planner and test the possible fronts.
That way, you can better imagine how the fronts will look in your kitchen.
Best regards,
Sektionschef

For us, it was like this: I actually prefer Stat, but my wife prefers Lidingö.
So we will go with Lidingö in white.
Lidingö is probably easier to maintain because it doesn’t have as many grooves.
How durable it will be in practice remains to be seen. At least we haven’t planned any upper cabinets directly above the range hood. That’s the most critical area for the kitchen fronts.
You can try entering your kitchen in the IKEA kitchen planner and then test the fronts you’re considering.
That way you can better imagine how the fronts will look in your kitchen.
Best regards,
SektionschefI’ve done it many times already, and we just liked the mentioned fronts best.
It’s not only about appearance, but also about weighing up which front is likely to be more durable. Since I changed the system, I don’t have the option to replace the fronts easily anymore.
Best regards

Maverick185421 Oct 2013 06:27We have now had Lidingö fronts for a year and are satisfied. It should be mentioned that we are a two-person household and do not cook every day.
