Jase31Hello everyone,
I have been looking closely at my IKEA Metod kitchen, and unfortunately, some of the cabinet fronts have small, unsightly scratches and dents. Now I’m wondering: Are there any repair kits or materials specifically designed for IKEA Metod fronts?
I know there are many generic furniture repair kits available, but I’m looking for something tailored to the materials and finishes of the Metod fronts to achieve the best, least noticeable repairs.
Does anyone here have experience with this or any tips on where to find such kits?

I have personally had small scratches from time to time and was initially unsure how to best treat them. Although there are no custom-made kits for Metod, I can reassure you that with some patience and the right generic products, you can achieve good results.
For clarification: IKEA Metod fronts are available in different types, such as painted MDF fronts, foil-covered fronts, or real wood fronts. This significantly affects the repair options.
For painted surfaces, special touch-up pens in matching colors or fine sandpaper followed by repainting are suitable. Repairing foil fronts is more difficult; repair wax or filler compounds are often helpful here.
IKEA itself does not offer dedicated repair kits specifically designed for the surfaces of Metod.

Detailed information about the materials of Metod fronts: The standard fronts are usually made of MDF coated with melamine resin, which creates a smooth surface. This makes repairs difficult because, for example, scratches on the melamine surface often cannot be fixed with conventional wood filler.
There are repair kits specifically designed for melamine-coated furniture that include filling resins or wax sticks, available in various shades. These can work well for minor damage.
The best results are achieved when the repair material is color-matched precisely to the front and the surface is then polished smooth.
