We visited IKEA today intending to order our planned kitchen.
Regarding the fronts, we noticed that the Nexus front in black-brown has two different shades in the showroom. One looked like what we were "used to," a really dark shade. The other appeared more brown with just a hint of black. We didn’t like that at all, so we approached the IKEA staff. The first person said it was just the lighting. Sure... 🙄 The second person said it depends on the suppliers. One provides one shade, the other another. Great. According to her, it would basically be a lottery which color we would receive. But the lighter Nexus black-brown front just looks plain ugly. It’s neither one thing nor the other.
Is this really the case?
My husband and I are very frustrated; we were so excited about our new kitchen and then this.
We just want the really dark front. 🙁

Have you checked how the return policy works in a case like this? Since I’ve always had very good experiences with returns, I would suggest you ask if there’s a chance to exchange or return the items as soon as you open the boxes and realize the color is wrong.
Alternatively, you could inquire about the manufacturers of the kitchens on display – if it really depends on them – and note the one with the color you want. Maybe you can influence the choice when placing the order.
In any case, I wish you the best of luck with your kitchen purchase. Fingers crossed that everything goes just the way you want.

Not only were the colors different (white & gray), but the plates were also slightly thicker.
But that was for goods worth less than 100 euros. With a kitchen, it’s obviously a different matter.
I would be furious!
