Hello
I want to install a base cabinet in my kitchen rotated so that it’s accessible from the front.
With Faktum, a 60cm (24 inch) base cabinet with a side panel is slightly wider than the depth of a 60cm (24 inch) base cabinet, as shown in the picture.

With Metod, I was surprised to find that the base cabinets are a bit deeper, and at least according to the kitchen planner, the width including the side panel and the depth are the same, see picture.

I assume that if the rotated base cabinet has a door and the hinge is on the side opposite the wall, then I don’t need a filler strip between the wall and the base cabinet, right?
I know we have to wait until Metod is available, but based on the planner at least, I should be able to place a rotated 60cm (24 inch) base cabinet exactly next to another 60cm (24 inch) base cabinet. Does anyone have any other concerns?
Best regards

No cabinet dimensions should be the same, see the answer "Faktum countertop with Metod."

No cabinet carcass dimension should be the same, see the answer "Faktum countertop with Metod"

Well, if the cabinet carcass dimension is the same but the overall depth of Metod is slightly greater due to the mounting rail compared to Faktum, then the Metod online planner's representation could be correct. I assume it should be possible to screw the rotated US cabinet to the kitchen wall if it has no legs at the back.

Without a jamb, the door will still open, but if it is not hinged towards the wall, it might become annoying if the open door is in the way.

With METOD, you can also install four legs under the cabinet. This is necessary, especially for an island.

Thanks for the tip. Could I use these 153Gard hinges for the door so it can open wider?

That is possible. Ultimately, it depends on how the cabinet is used.
