Hello,

we are currently planning our first IKEA kitchen and are facing a problem. I have researched and read a lot, but the solution remains unclear to me. If I cannot find a solution, unfortunately, our IKEA kitchen project will fail.

Here is the question: We have a Bosch dishwasher with front-side controls. For the METOD system, front panels are only available for fully integrated dishwashers. Since we definitely will not replace our recently purchased dishwasher, we are now looking for a solution. I found the product "ERSÄTTARE" at IKEA, which seems to be a possible solution; however, there is no suitable front panel offered to use with it. How does IKEA envision the next steps for this method?

Here are the installation requirements for our dishwasher:

I would be very grateful if someone has an idea.

Best regards

Hello, ERSÄTTARE is used together with 40 cm (16 inches) and 20 cm (8 inches) or three 20 cm (8 inches) high drawer fronts. In both cases, a 10 cm (4 inches) (or 20 cm (8 inches) if necessary) drawer front is cut to size to fill the remaining gap.

Great, thank you very much for the quick response. Now the instructions for ERSÄTTARE also make sense to me.

Great question! I'm facing the same issue, although my kitchen is almost finished. I have a 45cm (18 inches) wide partially integrated dishwasher, which I have already installed, and I cut the Ringhult front panel to fit the exact size of the dishwasher.

Would it have been better to cut the front panel to match the length of the other cabinets and then adjust the toe kick so the door can swing under the dishwasher, or would that make it too high? Also, how do you seal the cut edge? I definitely want to prevent moisture from getting in there.

At the moment, unfortunately, I have an open space underneath the dishwasher, and I’m not sure how to cover it.

Hello,
Would it have been smarter to cut the front panel to the length of the other cabinets and then adjust the baseboard so the door can swing under the dishwasher?

No, even then the door wouldn’t fully open without the baseboard.
How do you seal the cut edge?

Apply edge banding or

Assembly kit: two metal brackets, one long white mounting rail, and screws.
