I really think it’s unfortunate that doors are available in 20cm (8 inches) increments from 40cm (16 inches) up to 200cm (79 inches), but the 160cm (63 inches) height is missing. The explanation given is that none of the built-in refrigerators offered by IKEA require this height. In other words, they want to discourage the use of third-party appliances, meaning it’s best to get rid of existing appliances and buy new ones from IKEA instead. This clearly shows that customer convenience, which IKEA often claims to prioritize, is not the main focus—instead, it seems to be more about maximizing profit.

The same applies to dishwashers....
Because of the low plinth, almost no dishwasher fits.
We recently bought a new one that we also wanted to install in our IKEA kitchen... but it’s not possible. There are no adjustable rails available for that.
Unfortunately, there is no information about this on IKEA’s website either. All the hinges that used to allow you to integrate a standard dishwasher into the kitchen have recently been discontinued.

Right now, I’m thinking... a kitchen for 5,000 euros (about 5,400 USD) and then I can’t even panel the dishwasher...

Solutions can be found in the dishwasher fronts thread.

...which unfortunately all lead to having to buy a new dishwasher.
I’m not going to spend (for my standards) a lot of money on a kitchen just to have to mess around with something afterwards.
The only somewhat reasonable solution was discontinued.

There is also the option to use ERSÄTTARE or to install the front with an overhang on a raised plinth. The latter is, of course, a bit inconvenient if the kitchen is already installed.

I am currently facing a problem with the dishwasher as well.

I have a Bosch SGI58M05EU/42 that was installed in my previous Faktum kitchen, and now I have no idea how to properly integrate it into the new Metod kitchen, which is already set up except for the dishwasher...

Are there any recommendations for new dishwashers that fit perfectly without any hassle or adjustments? I use only Grevsta stainless steel fronts, so having a dishwasher with a replaceable front panel is not important, as long as it is stainless steel and can open cleanly without gaps over the standard 8 cm (3 inch) baseboard. Also, it shouldn’t cost around 1000 €.
