hello –
about a year ago I bought an Ikea Faktum kitchen; now I need some hinges with soft-close dampers. Can I also use Metod hinges for this? I’ve noticed the mounting holes on the cabinet are different – but that’s not a problem, I can drill.

How is the mounting done on the door?
Does the cup drilling fit?
Is the pivot point located differently?
So, those are three questions.

I might be surprised if someone says I should have asked about four things...
but anyway, I’m looking forward to a good answer, or even several!

Hello,
you need to drill the two 5 mm holes to 8 mm.
You should be able to get the old mounting plates from customer service. You can also buy them, for example,

Close-up of a metal fitting with screws, door attachment

Then you won’t have to drill holes in the cabinet body.
The hinges for Pax should also fit without needing to drill into the door, but if I remember correctly, the mounting plate has a 3 mm (1/8 inch) offset, and the cup needs to be fixed with screws. It’s best to buy both, try them out, and return the ones you don’t need.
