Good morning everyone, I am facing the task of planning the IKEA Platsa system for my living room. I especially want to focus on clever use of space and flexible modules that can adapt to changing needs. I have already tried several versions, but I lack a structured approach to make the planning efficient and well thought out. Therefore, my question is: How do you best plan the Platsa system? Do you use specific tools, have tips for measuring and assembling, or recommendations for accessories and modifications? What points should be particularly considered from experience to avoid problems later, such as incorrect dimensions or missing connectors? I look forward to your detailed and practical advice!

I would prefer not to have any visible screws on the outside. Is that possible with this system?

Yes, Platsa modules are designed so that the connections are made from the inside. Visible screws on the exterior are not standard. This means you can fit fronts and panels neatly and flush without any visible fasteners. For the drawer combinations, it’s best to always use the set recommended by IKEA that includes fronts and drawer bottoms to ensure everything fits together properly. Additionally, there are often height variations (e.g., half-height and full-height fronts) that can be combined well—for example, to create a mixed front design with drawers and doors.

I would add that careful planning of the fronts to the streamlined side panels is important not only for aesthetics but also for functionality – otherwise, doors might hit each other when opened or the corner may not be perfectly aligned.
