heikopuHello everyone, I am currently assembling my Pax wardrobe and have some questions about the holes I need to pay attention to during the build. Specifically: Which holes are absolutely essential to ensure all modules can be properly installed later? Are there any holes that must not be covered or ignored because they are needed for attaching shelves, drawers, or rails? I definitely want to avoid having to take everything apart again later because I covered or missed a necessary opening somewhere. It would be great if you could share your experience about which holes should definitely be considered during the assembly of the Pax and what to watch out for. Thanks in advance!
It is essential to pay close attention to the drill holes in the side panels during assembly, as these are used to hang the adjustable shelves and drawer slides. These holes are usually spaced closely together to allow flexibility in the height of the interior components. If these holes are covered or ignored, no later adjustments can be made. The same applies to the drill holes on the back panel, which are necessary for the secure mounting of the cabinet back. Avoid covering these from the outside. Some models also have holes for cable entries at the top rear, which are needed for electrical installations (lighting, accessories).
Thanks for the initial tips! I have a detailed question: Are there differences in the holes between the smaller Pax models and the larger ones with sliding doors? I ask because with my large model, I can’t rule out the possibility that depending on the door type or cabinet height, different holes might be more relevant.
Yes, with larger Pax systems featuring sliding doors, the holes for the guide rails at the top and near the floor are especially important. These differ from the standard shelf holes. Additionally, the drillings for fastening the rail systems must be kept completely clear, as they cannot be installed otherwise. Make sure to leave the holes free according to the assembly instructions and do not cover them with panels or extensions.
