Rocket_FHello,
some time ago, we purchased a Pax wardrobe with Lyngdal sliding doors (50-100-100-50). Assembling the wardrobe was fine, but installing the sliding doors is really difficult (also due to their weight).
Now the doors seem to be properly hung. However, both doors strongly rub against each other in the last 20 cm (8 inches), and you really need force to separate them again.
What could be causing this? As mentioned, they appear to be correctly hooked in, but when closing, the doors keep hitting each other in the middle.
Thank you in advance!
Good luck

Hello,
we have exactly the same problem with the PAX TONNES sliding doors. After thoroughly checking and reviewing all assembly steps, we are confident that everything is installed correctly, yet the outer door’s screws at the top scratch the lower door. It can only be fully opened or closed with force.
We have no idea what is causing this, and the lower door is already badly scratched even though the wardrobe hasn’t been properly used yet...
We would be grateful for any tips!
Good luck,

Hello,
We also experienced the issue with the sliding doors hitting each other. At first, we thought that all installation steps had been followed exactly as described. However, after removing the doors and carefully checking the frame brackets for the glass panels, we quickly found the problem. The outer frame structures (the long aluminum bars on the right and left) for the inner door differ from those of the outer door. In our case, the frames were marked with an "A" sticker. It is therefore crucial to ensure that you use the two elements with the "A" label for the inner door. The long aluminum brackets for the outer door are not labeled. Although this is shown in the instructions, an additional note would have been helpful.

Hello!
QUAM’s answer is exactly right! I had the same problem today and spent HOURS trying and adjusting, yet still ended up scratching the doors.
It’s incredibly frustrating when Ikea makes it so easy for customers to fall into this trap with the individual parts. Of course, they are labeled, but when the parts look VERY, VERY similar, you don’t really check if something with an "A" is different from the one without it.
So, for my PAX UGGDAL, I unscrewed the doors again, put the two long parts with the "A" together on the inner door this time, and that’s it – no more scratching.
Here it is again for search engines, so others who are “victims” can find this help more quickly:

schneeweisschen21 Jul 2010 22:04There were no markings, letters, or anything similar on the outer edges (Pax Lyngdal) in our case. I also couldn’t find any reference to this in the assembly instructions.
Unfortunately, our doors do not close completely (each door can be opened to the left or right individually without any problem, but when both are closed at the same time, there is always a gap of about 10cm (4 inches) on the side that is supposed to be closed second).
Could this be related to the so-called magical letters in our case as well, or are there no such differences with Lyngdal?
