Hello everyone, I am planning to install sliding doors in my Pax wardrobe and want to consider some important points to achieve the best possible result. Specifically, I am interested in which preparations are essential before installation, how to measure the doors correctly, what details to pay attention to in the mounting kit, and whether there are any factors that could affect the functionality or durability of the sliding doors. Are there also any special tips for adjusting the doors after installation? I would greatly appreciate any experiences and advice!
I would like to add that when it comes to Pax wardrobes with sliding doors, the maximum load capacity of the doors must also be considered. People often underestimate how much weight the doors can support, especially when additional elements are installed inside the wardrobe. Excessive weight can cause the tracks to warp and negatively affect the door operation.
Regarding adjustment after installation, it is essential that all screws of the running rails are not fully tightened immediately. Only after the doors are installed should the adjustment screws be used to achieve precise alignment. This allows for compensation of horizontal and vertical deviations.
Furthermore, smooth operation can only be consistently ensured if the running rails are kept clean and free from dust and moisture. For long-term use, it is advisable to occasionally clean the rails and, if necessary, treat them with a special oil that maintains their sliding properties.

I often wonder why so many people are so impressed by the IKEA standards. Of course, installing sliding doors in a PAX wardrobe is basically feasible and not particularly complicated. However, if you want to be really precise, you shouldn’t rely solely on the supplied tracks but might consider investing in higher-quality guiding components.
Such standard sets are inexpensive and straightforward, but their durability and smooth operation sometimes do not meet long-term expectations, especially with frequent use. That said, it probably comes down more to personal preference.

I just wanted to mention that when I was installing my PAX sliding doors, I initially struggled mostly with doubts about the alignment. It’s no secret that such tasks can sometimes be frustrating—especially when small gaps remain despite your best efforts. My advice: take your time and make sure to take short breaks in between.
In the end, when you see the doors glide smoothly and quietly, it makes all the effort worthwhile.

I always wonder why so many people are so impressed by IKEA standards. I have to disagree there. If you measure and install carefully, the included components are absolutely sufficient for most households.
You just have to keep in mind that we are not talking about a high-end piece of furniture here, but rather functional and affordable everyday items. Of course, if you have special requirements, you will want higher quality – but for the standard PAX sliding doors, this works well.
