ᐅ What does a well-designed wardrobe or entryway storage look like?

Hello everyone,

We have been living in our house for a few months now. However, the wardrobe area is still a makeshift puzzle. I would really like something custom here. We have plenty of space (approximately 2 meters (6.5 feet) wide and about 4.5 meters (15 feet) long), so many options are possible.

I would love to hear from you what you consider essential for a successful wardrobe area and what might have been a disappointment. Two adults and two toddlers.
Pictures and ideas, even somewhat unconventional ones, are very welcome 🙂

Thank you very much

Then show it on a plan or photo – that way it’s easier to imagine the options.

Attached is the entrance area. It’s basically open above like a gallery with a skylight for natural light. From the outside, you enter through a covered carport. Of course, I already have some ideas, but I’m curious if there are things I might not have thought of yet.

Floor plan of a living area: rooms, doors, walls, staircase, and dimensions.

Well, you should at least know the size and location of the openings (things like windows & doors).
I added that, but it was also about other ideas initially independent from the floor plan.

Well, if there is actually a side window next to the front door, then there really isn’t space for a practical, ideal invisible coat rack 😳 In that case, a closet along the long wall, a coat stand, or a stool in front of this window would do the job…

Don’t make it so easy for yourself 🙂 Coming from you, I would have expected more like integrating the robot vacuum, LED backlighting, a built-in window seat, etc.

Maybe the topic is simply solved with a wardrobe bench and chest of drawers and done.

I’m still hesitant about the Pax. It’s really too much cardboard for a permanent solution for me.

Maybe the topic is simpler though, with just a bench with storage and a dresser, and that’s it.

I’m still resisting the Pax. It’s really too much cardboard for a long-term solution for me.
Then choose a wooden cabinet, something you like. Pax just has brilliant internal fittings, which makes it extremely practical. Unfortunately, Ikea has discontinued the great shoe storage units.

Sorry, that’s not on my must-have list: no integrated LED, no window seat, no robot. And definitely no intense rethinking on Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas first of all… maybe tomorrow something will come up that could save the situation 🙂
