Hello everyone, I am considering equipping my new IKEA Pax wardrobe with integrated LED lights to achieve better interior illumination. I am wondering if this wardrobe is available directly from the factory with built-in LED lighting, or if the lighting has to be purchased separately and installed by oneself? I’m interested in any experiences or information about product variants that IKEA offers with integrated LED lighting, preferably also regarding the quality and functionality of such solutions. Thanks in advance!

The LED kits from IKEA are relatively affordable, usually between 20 and 50 euros depending on the features. Regarding durability, I can say that LEDs generally have a long lifespan. Direct replacement of individual components is usually quite feasible with the IKEA lighting kits.

All the points mentioned so far are correct. Simply stick the lighting inside the cabinet and connect it, which is often sufficient. Regarding durability: the LEDs typically last several years without any issues under normal use.

As an additional note: If you are interested in an integrated solution, so far it is only possible to install the LED lighting sets either with mains power or battery-operated versions. Factory integration with Pax is not available, which also makes sense due to the modular design. For a clean look, I recommend the mains-powered versions, as batteries need to be regularly recharged or replaced.

When installing, pay attention to the price-performance ratio and the intended use (e.g., permanent lighting vs. motion sensors).

Good tip. Does anyone have practical experience with motion sensors in PAX regarding sensitivity and delay? I'm interested in whether the light reliably turns on as soon as the wardrobe door opens, without much delay or false triggers.

I have been using IKEA LED lights with motion sensors in my PAX wardrobe for about a year. The response is quick, with a delay of just a few seconds. False activations are rare, as long as the sensor is positioned freely inside the wardrobe and not blocked by fabrics. It is worth placing the lighting at the back of the wardrobe to ensure the signal works optimally. Overall, very practical and reliable for everyday use.
