Hi .....my question is about the Ringhult side panels ....our kitchen is 2.00 m (6 feet 7 inches) and the side panels are 2.20 m (7 feet 3 inches) ....is it correct that I have to shorten them myself, meaning cut them down? Also, the long side is damaged and has markings made with a permanent marker .....everything seems a bit suspicious.
Best regards, emma08

You actually need to shorten the top side. The existing heights apparently do not accommodate every desired measurement. The fact that the top side is marked with permanent marker is really unfortunate.
If it is outside the area you have to cut off anyway, I would recommend claiming the part or rather exchanging it. However, I’m not sure if you have the option to do this easily. It could be that no suitable vehicle is available or that the store is too far away.

Hi jojoman, that’s really quite something. Not everyone has the right tools – like saws – at home. We have now checked whether it might be possible to saw off the side. It’s not just that it’s marked, but the entire corner is damaged, chipped, and cracked. But the nearest IKEA is 100 km (62 miles) away round trip. Thanks to you... best regards, emma08

This is really unfortunate... I'm not a professional, but according to IKEA's website, there are no 2m (6.6 ft) long ceiling panels.

Maybe you can borrow a jigsaw from friends or neighbors.

I just noticed that there are no 2.00 m (6 ft 7 in) sides. However, the sellers could at least inform buyers upfront that these will need to be cut by the customer themselves. Fortunately, we have enough tools, including a table saw... my husband just needs to clear some space first tomorrow...

With a fitted kitchen, adjustments are almost always necessary. At the end of a row, the side panels can also be installed all the way down to the floor. In that case, they need to be 208 cm (82 inches) high, but they might also be, for example, 209 cm (82.3 inches) if the floor is uneven or the rail is not mounted exactly at the correct height. There should also be an installation manual included.

Contact customer service regarding the damage. A new side panel should be delivered. The only problem is if you need it immediately for the installation.
