Hello everyone,

As mentioned above, we want to get a robotic lawn mower to start the spring season.
Which ones do you use, recommend, or avoid, and why?
Does it have to be a Husqvarna, or is a Worx also good enough? Why one and not the other?
I’m very interested in hearing about your experiences.

Best regards

I feel like I have to change blades almost every week. Either my lawn is too tough or my blades are too soft. I quickly get white, torn blade tips.

It’s the same for me. With the original Gardena blades and other aftermarket blades, the lawn looks “ripped up” after just a few days. Only since switching to C-blades has the cut stayed neat for longer. However, with the C-blades there is a risk that they break and get left somewhere – so I only keep them on for a maximum of three weeks.
(I have a Sileno City 500)

I have also looked for alternatives but only found these "Titanium"-coated ones. I have now ordered a pack of 30.

This is also a roll-out lawn. Installed in October 2020. The landscaper had to admit that they have had this problem ever since they had to change suppliers because their original one couldn’t deliver. Several customers have been complaining about this issue since then. They have accepted it as a clear defect and will now try to salvage it; otherwise, they will re-lay the lawn at their own expense. The lawn is widely yellowed because the creeping bentgrass is taking over completely. After three quarters of a year, I cannot accept this situation.

I think there is a reason why the user manual and all tutorials online for garden tractors / Husqvarna models all say the same thing: to ensure that the blades can rotate freely. I can now even tell from the sound whether they are rotating freely or are jammed.
No, I don't think so. Mine has been running trouble-free for years, and the lawn looks great.

Whether the blades are fixed in position or reach there through centrifugal force should not matter.

I’m not losing any face by following the advice and clearing the blades every few days. As I said, I assume there’s a good reason why this is recommended.

It’s not time yet, but next year it could become interesting. We have an L-shaped lawn (that is, a 6-meter (20-foot) wide strip on the left side of the house and then a wider strip extending out from the terrace), with a slight slope, about 700 square meters (7,535 square feet), 2 apple trees, 1 plum tree, and a fruit meadow (meaning dandelions and similar plants). The slight slope is partly supported by a retaining wall, so the robot would need to pass alongside the wall. Does anyone have any suggestions?
