Hello Dear Forum,

After extensive googling and reading here in the forum, I am somewhat clearer on a few points, but when it comes to the dishwasher, there have been several long nights.

Since I will be renovating soon, I want to install a fully integrated dishwasher from BSH in my kitchen. I am specifically considering the Bosch model SBV 69 N 70 EU.

How does it work with the front panel here? Some say the Stefan method (what is that actually?) can help, others say the Vaglig mounting rail set and a few custom-cut panels will also do. There is also the option with helpers. Which of these options would be the best for this? Because a dishwasher with a vari-angle hinge is for me A) expensive and B) somewhat unclear to me in terms of installation.

My fronts will be either Brokhult walnut effect or VOXTORP walnut effect. What also looks nice is Haganäs birch veneer, but that is a different matter. It is important to me which front fits the dishwasher, or which method allows me to attach it most easily.

Thanks to everyone for your help
Best regards, Kevin

Yes, exactly.

Function of the variable hinge
Basically, it works similarly to a refrigerator door with a folding door mechanism, meaning the front panel slides along the appliance door when opening.
Oh, and for the sake of completeness, the solution with ERSÄTTARE should also be mentioned. This requires a split front panel, where the lower part is 20cm (8 inches) high and folds forward when opening the dishwasher door using hinges.

Great, thank you. To be honest, I find all the fiddling around really unpleasant. It’s a shame that you can’t just install a fully integrated dishwasher without having to make all sorts of adjustments and cuttings.

But thanks a lot for the information.
With ovens and built-in microwaves, I don’t have this installation issue, do I?

Great, thank you. To be honest, I find the fiddling around really unattractive. It’s a shame that you can’t just install a fully integrated dishwasher without having to cut everything to fit.

I believe these issues didn’t exist with Faktum cabinets in the past and only appeared with Metod, where the front height is now 80cm (31.5 inches).
But if you know this and choose a dishwasher with a variable hinge (or an equivalent option from other brands besides BSH), then it’s no problem at all.
I don’t have this installation issue with ovens and built-in microwaves, do I?

No, and it’s also less problematic with refrigerators, where the only issue might be a slight overlap of the doors at the top or bottom. You can see the same in Ikea showroom kitchens with Ikea’s own refrigerators.

Great, good to know.

I did some Googling and spoke with the Bosch dealer support. Bosch offers the following models:

Bosch SBE 68 TX 06 E
and
Bosch SBE 88 TX 16 E

Siemens has the SX 778 X 16 TE.

Thanks to the variable hinge system, these would fit without any problems.

One last, silly question: Ikea appliances are connected to the fronts using a drop-down door system. But couldn’t you also simply skip the hinges and install the appliances using a fixed door system instead?

Hello forum again,

my kitchen is now ordered. About the dishwasher:

The section manager described the Stefan method here. I had the idea that you could have a 2.5cm (1 inch) thick wooden board cut to the width of the niche at the building supply store and then attach it to the countertop and so on using countersunk Torx screws. Underneath, you could then easily push the dishwasher against it without having to raise the plinth or do anything else.

Is my way of thinking correct?

Actually, I am considering buying the SBV 69 N 70 EU. If my line of thought is right, you could then attach the front panel with an offset according to the installation instructions. Right?

The minimum baseboard height is specified as 9 cm (3.5 inches).
It might be possible to work with 8 cm (3.1 inches) within tolerance limits, but maybe not. So far, no one has reported how much the possible tolerances can be stretched.
