Hello everyone,

First of all, great forum here!

I am currently planning a U-shaped kitchen. Unfortunately, I seem to have the problem that the drawer slides on one side interfere with each other. At least, that’s my impression, even though the 3D planner doesn’t show any issues.

Please take a look at the attached images.
The problem is at the corner base cabinet next to the sink cabinet. Due to the limited space, I cannot fit a back panel or similar there. I suspect that the drawers of the sink cabinet won’t clear the handles of the adjacent cabinet.
If my impression is wrong, even better!

Problem area in 3D view:

BUT, if I would run into issues there, I am considering shortening the corner cabinet (or the back panel there) slightly on the left side so that the dishwasher cabinet and sink cabinet can shift a little to the left.
Is this possible, and would it help with my problem?

Possible solution:

Thanks in advance!

If only the handles were the problem...
Have you ever considered leaving them out and using push-to-open mechanisms instead?

Did you plan the cabinets with or without the track? They each add 1cm (0.4 inches).

A dimensioned floor plan would be very helpful. 🙂

Floor plan:

The plan is actually to use rails, since it is unknown what heavy equipment might eventually be stored in the cabinets in the distant future.

What do the rails have to do with heavy equipment? Otherwise, you would screw the cabinet into the wall anyway.

Am I correct in understanding that it is just under 251cm (98.8 inches)? Which fronts and handles?

You can install the base cabinets without rails and the wall cabinets with rails.
You can shorten the filler piece on the corner cabinet.

I believe that the base cabinets definitely need to be secured in some way to prevent them from tipping forward when the drawers are fully extended, and it seems that using drawer slides is the easiest solution. However, it is worth considering not mounting the slides on the base cabinets themselves and instead attaching them directly.
