Wurzelbuerste5 Jun 2016 12:21Hello everyone,
First of all, great forum here!
I am currently planning a U-shaped kitchen. Unfortunately, I seem to have the problem that the drawer slides on one side interfere with each other. At least, that’s my impression, even though the 3D planner doesn’t show any issues.
Please take a look at the attached images.
The problem is at the corner base cabinet next to the sink cabinet. Due to the limited space, I cannot fit a back panel or similar there. I suspect that the drawers of the sink cabinet won’t clear the handles of the adjacent cabinet.
If my impression is wrong, even better!
Problem area in 3D view:

BUT, if I would run into issues there, I am considering shortening the corner cabinet (or the back panel there) slightly on the left side so that the dishwasher cabinet and sink cabinet can shift a little to the left.
Is this possible, and would it help with my problem?
Possible solution:

Thanks in advance!

Yeah, unfortunately it looks like that. Have you tried simulating the individual cabinet door opening in the planner to see if they overlap?
You can also simply calculate it yourself: cabinet depth (possibly including the rail) plus front panel plus handle depth.
Even if you reduce two centimeters (about 1 inch) on the other side, it will be tight. The cabinets would have to be perfectly square to avoid any scraping.
Which one is the sink cabinet? Number 6? What is number 4 in the corner?

Number 3 is the sink cabinet.
Number 4 is meant just to stabilize the corner and could possibly include a concealed compartment.
Number 6 is a standard base cabinet.
Number 6 has a depth of 643mm (25 inches). According to the planner, I only have 641mm (25 inches) from number 3 to the right wall (without tolerances).
@Schmidti82: Unfortunately, I can no longer fit the filler panels at that spot.
So, theoretically, I could reduce number 1 (marked in green) by 2.5cm (1 inch) and then have enough space on both sides to open?
Is there any objection to this approach?
Other considerations:
1. Number 6 as a 37cm (15 inch) wide cabinet. But that doesn’t look good since a 60cm (24 inch) wide cabinet with cooktop will be next to it (which would create a new offset to the front).
2. Number 2 with a 45cm (18 inch) dishwasher instead of a 60cm (24 inch) one. I don’t like that either because it would require a large cover panel next to the sink cabinet.
Here is the overall view:
Here is the plan with a corner sink that somehow doesn’t appeal to me. Also, I’m missing a cabinet.

Schmidti825 Jun 2016 20:14Are you assembling the kitchen yourself?
You could use a 60cm (24 inch) or 80cm (32 inch) cabinet for the sink and fit the 45cm (18 inch) dishwasher front as the door, then cover the rest. It’s a bit of a DIY project.
Additionally, I would generally consider replacing the LeMans and the 20cm (8 inch) pull-out cabinet on the left side with an 80cm (32 inch) cabinet with 3 or 4 drawers.

I will take a look at the suggestions...
