Hello everyone,
Can someone please help me?
I want to replace the yFront of the IKEA wall cabinet horizontally. The front is attached with a soft-close hinge in a horizontal position.
I can’t remove the front because I’m unable to disconnect/open/release the hinge.
How do I open/disconnect the hinge?
Many thanks in advance

I hope you have found a solution by now. If not:
Most Ikea wall cabinets with horizontal fronts (so-called flap fronts) and soft-close hinges typically use flap fittings with a click mechanism or at least a locking catch. On the side of the hinge – usually near the mounting plate or directly on the hinge arm – you will find a small locking tab or a release lever. This is often a different color or can be felt by touch.
To remove the front, gently operate this lever or press on the marked area; the hinge will then release and free the front panel. It is often necessary to apply slight pressure up or down on the front at the same time to relieve tension. No tools are needed, and brute force rarely helps with Ikea batches.
Best regards and good luck!

See you soon!
