Hello everyone,
We are about to purchase our IKEA kitchen and are currently deep in the planning phase.
As we plan, more and more questions are coming up. Maybe you can help me out.
I have been searching online in vain for the internal dimensions of the MAXIMERA drawers in low, medium, and large sizes so I can figure out what fits inside.
Will large MAXIMERA drawers fit beverage crates or glass bottles?
I am planning an 80cm (31.5 inches) induction cooktop from Neff, which should be installed centered on two 80cm (31.5 inches) cabinets. According to Neff’s instructions and many others, it requires about 2cm (0.8 inches) of ventilation space behind it, and there must also be clearance between the cooktop and the drawer below. The base cabinets for the cooktop have a cut-out at the bottom, according to the assembly instructions. Based on the drawer depth from IKEA, there should be at least 2cm (0.8 inches) of space. So theoretically, the cut-out at the bottom provides the necessary ventilation—is that correct?
Best regards,
Itchy

IKEA-Experte19 Jan 2016 19:27How far the cooktop protrudes downward naturally depends on the thickness of the countertop.
The manufacturer recommends installing a middle shelf. If you do this, only a shallow drawer with a 20cm (8 inch) high front will fit.
In any case, care must be taken to ensure that the drawer does not rub against the cable.
Which heights do you mean? The backsplash?

IKEA-Freund19 Jan 2016 21:00 @ IKEA User: I read the thread as well, but didn’t fully understand it. To me, the drawer heights are not clear here… Sure – it was meant as a starting point since the _footprint_ is already mentioned there – you would have to measure the clear height yourself (that is, from the top edge of the drawer bottom to the underside of the drawer front above) – there are also many different crate or bottle heights. @ jelimi: Yes, the cooktop really looks great! What about a narrow drawer? Can I also make a shallow drawer directly beneath the cooktop, or would that be too close to the cooktop, or is that already taken into account by IKEA? How should that be universally taken into account? If at all, then only for IKEA’s own cooktops. Neff provides quite precise guidelines (here regarding the distance from the top of the countertop to the top of the drawer underneath), which are also available online (you already mentioned the wall-side ventilation).Regards, IKEA-Freund
I’m not sure if I will find a suitable countertop at Ikea.
I have read that countertops for Ikea carcasses need to be 62cm (25 inches) deep, and for an island, 124cm (49 inches)?
So far, I only find countertops up to 120cm (47 inches) in length. Is there a supplier that offers longer options and a wider selection than Ikea?
