Hello everyone,
We are about to purchase our IKEA kitchen and are currently deep in the planning phase.
As we plan, more and more questions are coming up. Maybe you can help me out.
I have been searching online in vain for the internal dimensions of the MAXIMERA drawers in low, medium, and large sizes so I can figure out what fits inside.
Will large MAXIMERA drawers fit beverage crates or glass bottles?
I am planning an 80cm (31.5 inches) induction cooktop from Neff, which should be installed centered on two 80cm (31.5 inches) cabinets. According to Neff’s instructions and many others, it requires about 2cm (0.8 inches) of ventilation space behind it, and there must also be clearance between the cooktop and the drawer below. The base cabinets for the cooktop have a cut-out at the bottom, according to the assembly instructions. Based on the drawer depth from IKEA, there should be at least 2cm (0.8 inches) of space. So theoretically, the cut-out at the bottom provides the necessary ventilation—is that correct?
Best regards,
Itchy

Hello itchy,
I only have the 45cm (18 inches) deep drawers because there is a water meter located behind the drawer. I’ve also stored a water tank there before.

Hello Itchy,
take a look at my photo gallery.
I also installed an 80cm (31½ inches) Neff induction cooktop.
No problem at all. You only need to make a small cutout at the top of the side panels of the cabinets if the cooktop is going over two cabinets.
Everything else works without any issues.

Thanks for the quick responses.
That all sounds very promising. Great that beverage crates fit into a large Maximera drawer.
And thanks again for the great picture. It looks good! Just how I imagined it. Very nice!
@ Ikea User: I also read the thread but didn’t quite understand it. The heights of the drawers aren’t clear to me here.
@ jelimi: Yes, the cooktop really looks great! What about a narrow drawer? Can I also install a shallow drawer directly below the cooktop, or would that be too close to the cooktop, or has Ikea already taken all this into account?
