Hello friends,

I have the following base cabinet

alt="White drawer unit with three gray fronts, open"

The two lower drawers are installed according to the instructions.

However, the top drawer (the outer one with the front) just won’t fit. Following the instructions and placing the drawer runners in hole number 13, the drawer sits almost directly above the drawer front below. When adding the corresponding front piece, the top drawer hits the middle one.

If I move the whole thing up by one position (which is not according to the instructions), the front of the top drawer ends up touching the countertop.

I have been trying to fix this for three hours now and just can’t get it right!

When assembling the Maximera drawers, you need to pay attention to the fact that the bottom drawer of a cabinet is slightly different: the two grub screws used to attach the metal parts to the front are positioned differently than on all other drawers. The same applies to the long plastic pieces found in the medium and tall Maximeras.

I followed the instructions exactly. So, for the bottom drawer, the first hole and the lower rail mounting are flush.

Then for the middle drawer, hole nine, also flush with the first drawer.

Then the problem starts with the top drawer (low Maximera). According to the instructions, hole 13, but then the rail is practically flush with the lower drawer. I still attached the front, and of course, it hits the lower drawer. Adjusting the front and the rail doesn’t help either.

Either I’m doing something wrong, or Ikea made a mistake.

Let’s leave the inner drawer out of this for now.

It’s not entirely clear whether you understood what schnecki meant.
The front panel can be attached to the drawer in two different positions. For the lowest position, the front brackets must be mounted so that the front is almost flush with the bottom of the cabinet. The assembly instructions show both options starting on page 12 and page 19. For the lower drawer, you need to follow the instructions from page 19. Here, the lower and middle holes of the front bracket 126888 are used instead of the upper and middle ones.

That’s exactly what I was trying to say with my rambling, but I couldn’t express it as clearly as IKEA-expert

@ IKEA-Experte:

Thank you so much for your explanation!
I had the same problem and had adjusted that drawer probably 1000 times until I found the solution here.

Many thanks!!!!
