We are in the process of installing a new kitchen. So far, so good. However, we have a problem with the wall rails for the wall cabinets. Even though we have looked at the drawings several times, we just don’t quite understand it. When I first saw the rails and the mounting brackets, I thought: Great – the rail goes on the wall, the brackets attach to the cabinets, and then you simply hang them up. But the instruction manual shows a picture indicating that you should not just hang the cabinets on the bottom rail?????? What are those strange plastic parts that apparently need to be screwed in? Is there any clear guide on how to properly attach the cabinets to the rails?
Can someone please explain this to me?

Thanks for the link, IKEA-Expert.
In the video, it says that the wall rail for a 220cm (7 ft 3 in) cabinet should be installed with the bottom edge at 222cm (7 ft 3 in).
The cabinet including feet is 228cm (7 ft 6 in) tall, so the rail needs to be mounted 6cm (2.4 in) lower at the bottom edge.
At first, I thought of skipping the wall rail for all cabinets, but after watching the videos, I will definitely buy it, even if the cabinets end up standing slightly away from the wall.

After watching all the videos several times, I still have a few questions.
1. When mounting on the wall rail, do I only need two legs per cabinet to support it at the front, or should I also place two legs at the back because of the cabinet’s weight (for example, a tall cabinet with an integrated refrigerator)?
2. How does the installation of a side panel work when using the wall rail? Does it align flush with the cabinet body and mounted front at the front?
When mounting the cabinets with the wall rail, they stand slightly away from the wall.
A tall cabinet body has a depth of 61.6cm (24.3 inches), and the side panel has a width of 62cm (24.4 inches).
But are the 0.4cm (0.16 inches) enough for a flush finish?

IKEA-Experte27 Jan 2015 14:051. It doesn’t hurt to use 4 feet.
2. Cabinet body 59 cm (23 inches) Rail 1 cm (0.4 inches) Front 1.6 to 1.8 cm (0.6 to 0.7 inches) - 1 mm (0.04 inches) gap = total depth 61.7 to 61.9 cm (24.3 to 24.4 inches)

IKEA-Experte27 Jan 2015 22:49I have nothing to do with IKEA. You probably just have to be a little bit crazy.
