ᐅ IKEA Metod 20-inch drawers look better than the wire basket drawers.

I’m currently at IKEA and just tried out the new 20cm (8 inches) wide, 80cm (31 inches) high Metod drawers that will replace the previous wire drawers. They are white inside, have two levels (not sure if height adjustable), and feature soft close. I don’t know the price and whether I’m allowed to upload a photo I took myself. But I liked them much better than the old ones!
So. I have now contacted Blum and asked if they have an alternative WITHOUT those rounded side panels that could be used for the 20cm (8 inch) base cabinet. I explained to them that losing a bit of floor space is acceptable for larger drawers, but not for such narrow pull-outs, and also pointed out that you can’t even fit a jar with a base of 12.5cm (5 inches) there. Let’s see what they reply.

IKEA-Profi31 Jul 2016 09:14Previously, everyone complained that nothing stands firmly on the wire mesh floor, that it gets stuck and tips over. Rightly so.
Previously, everyone complained that nothing stands stably on the grid floor, that items slip and tip over. Rightly so.This can be easily fixed by cutting a thin board or plastic sheet to size and placing it on the grid floor... I plan to do this myself if I can still get hold of two of those old drawers somewhere.

IKEA-Experte31 Jul 2016 12:04The Legrabox from Blum has vertical sidewalls. And as a partial extension, Förvara corresponds to the Metabox.
If the information is correct, Förvara will be discontinued.

Estimate around 70 € without drawer bottom and back panel for two extensions.
