Hello everyone,
I am considering getting a Metod kitchen, which is already available in Scandinavia. I have seen that besides the Maximera system, there is also the Förvara drawer unit, which is much cheaper. Does anyone have experience with it? Does anyone know if Förvara is also made with Hettich or Blum hardware?

IKEA-Experte5 Feb 2014 19:29Hello,
FÖRVARA is much simpler. Roller drawer slides, single-wall drawer boxes, no full extension, no soft-close mechanism, and no lateral adjustment for the front panel.
As a manufacturer, I would not expect Blum or Hettich. I'm curious whether MAXIMERA will also be from Blum in Germany.

Since Monday, Metod is also available in France. The price difference between Förvara and Maximera is only seemingly large at first glance.
Maximera matches the quality you would expect from a modern drawer: full extension, soft-close, smooth operation...
In France, the 60cm (24 inches) drawer costs 26 euros.
Förvara is at best an alternative to a wire pull-out and costs about the same, around 15 euros.
When calculated for an entire kitchen, that only adds up to maybe 100–200 euros. That comfort would be worth it to me... rather than just using shelves and constantly replacing them, which would be more practical.
Best regards

IKEA-Profi11 Nov 2016 00:51Since Förvara is being discontinued, the choice will soon no longer be an option anyway!

IKEA-Profi11 Nov 2016 09:00It’s still included in this year’s catalog. Are there any updates on this? Are you sure? Because it’s not in the kitchen catalogs or buying guides!
I can’t give you a date, but already half a year ago they said Förvara was being discontinued. Makes sense, those things are just junk.
