ᐅ IKEA Metod 20-inch drawers look better than the wire basket drawers.

I’m currently at IKEA and just tried out the new 20cm (8 inches) wide, 80cm (31 inches) high Metod drawers that will replace the previous wire drawers. They are white inside, have two levels (not sure if height adjustable), and feature soft close. I don’t know the price and whether I’m allowed to upload a photo I took myself. But I liked them much better than the old ones!

Good morning

Those are very good news
I bought a new kitchen three months ago, and the 20 base cabinets really bother me

If the new ones become available, can I then exchange my drawers? Paying twice is quite a lot

Best regards

If it’s brand new, I would remove it and return it before it looks used. However, don’t expect to get the Maximera pull-out for this right away. In the meantime, just install two shelves temporarily.

Looks somehow just like the part from Blum:

The new drawer slides are not yet available in Hamburg but are already expected by the staff. Apparently, they were not completely satisfied with the previous solution either.
They will cost €49 (about $49.00) — the previous ones were €25 (about $25.00), which is quite a price increase, in my opinion.

Apparently, we got the drawer reduced because we ordered the new kitchen shortly before switching to the successor model? During the delivery period, Ikea automatically lowered the price of the Boholmen sink on the kitchen furniture without us asking. Possibly the same happened with the 30cm (12 inches) Metod drawer?

Speaking of the new kitchen, it was delivered last Saturday and is being assembled little by little. It’s quite a lot of work when you have to do it alongside your job.

We also bought the Bosch XXL dishwasher with the Vario hinge. That will probably be the last thing to be installed.
