Hello,
I would like to buy an IKEA kitchen and assemble it myself. However, the appliances should not be from IKEA but from the Siemens IQ500 and IQ700 series.
The refrigerator: Siemens KI40FP60 is supposed to go into the cabinet: IKEA ME717.
A salesperson at IKEA told me today that the refrigerator must have a pull-out hinge. However, the Siemens refrigerator has a flat hinge.
Can anyone answer whether I can still install the refrigerator in the IKEA cabinet?
Thank you very much!

concealed hinges are not an issue, but the base unit is. Siemens specifies a minimum base height of 10 cm (4 inches). Take a close look at the installation manual for the appliance.

IKEA-Experte29 May 2016 14:51Whether A, B, or C applies mainly depends on the desired height of the refrigerator and the type of doors from the kitchen manufacturer.
The ventilation intake opening has a minimum height of 10cm (4 inches). You will need to check with Siemens whether the cross-section is still sufficient if the height is reduced to 8cm (3 inches).

Well. There is an air duct included that has a fixed width, so you can’t compensate for a lack of height. This component seems to prevent a short circuit of the air in the base, since both the supply and exhaust air are located at the bottom. Surely, you could modify this part and customize something. On the other hand, I have now looked at installation manuals from Liebherr. That seems to work much more smoothly. There is nothing in the base except the supply air. This must be 200 cm² (31 in²) in size, but logically this area can be located anywhere below the kitchen cabinet, as the appliance simply draws air from the base compartment without any ducting. The exhaust air goes out at the top.
IKEA expert, maybe you can also help me with the dishwasher? I want to install a fully integrated Siemens or Miele dishwasher. The fronts are Bodbyn. Could there be any issues with this? Do you know if the XXL models also fit in the Metod kitchen when built with the standard 8cm (3 inch) plinth height?
Many thanks
