Hello everyone,
I have noticed that some of the drawer fronts on my IKEA Malm dressers are slightly warped. This not only looks unattractive but also prevents the fronts from closing properly.
My question to the community is: How do you replace warped Malm drawer fronts?
I want to proceed as professionally as possible without damaging the entire drawer mechanism. Are there any special tools I should be aware of, or tricks that make the removal process especially gentle?
Additionally, I am interested to know whether it is necessary to use new IKEA original parts when replacing the fronts, or if there are compatible alternatives.
Thanks in advance for your tips!

Precisely measuring the dimensions of the old front panelI will do that, thanks.
I have also found out that my model is from 2017 and the front panels have a matte painted finish.
Thanks also for the tip regarding the position of the drill holes. I will check this carefully when ordering the replacement parts.
If I have any further questions, I will post here again.
Quick update: This morning I removed the first fronts and followed your advice. The heat application worked really well; using a hairdryer on a low setting made the material flexible enough to remove without breaking.
The clips are a bit delicate, so I carefully released them with a plastic spatula. Thanks for the tip.
I will now order the replacement fronts and will report back once I have finished the installation.
