Leuchte_43014 Jan 2015 13:25Hello,
Happy New Year and greetings to everyone!
I am currently putting together our new kitchen. For the cabinet fronts, we have chosen "Ringhult," combined with the handle "Blankett."
Now we are facing the purchase of a dishwasher. Originally, we planned to get a fully integrated dishwasher. According to our research, it seems it must be a large-capacity model with a Vario hinge, so that the 80cm (31.5 inches) long IKEA fronts fit properly. Please correct us if we are mistaken.
However, we have some doubts because the "Blankett" handle is attached on the inside of the door, and we wonder if this might interfere with the dishwasher. Is that the case?
If so, we would prefer to go for a semi-integrated dishwasher instead.
But what size should the front panel be? Does IKEA offer suitable options, or would I have to have a custom front cut to measure?
Thank you in advance for any tips and information!
Helmut

IKEA-Experte8 Jan 2015 15:14For a semi-integrated appliance, ERSÄTTARE is used. The front panel then consists, for example, of a 20cm (8 inches) and a cut-to-fit 60cm (24 inches) panel. Beforehand, the installation instructions for both ERSÄTTARE and the dishwasher should be reviewed to determine whether installation is feasible.
For a fully integrated appliance with Openassist, as Siemens calls it, you don’t need a handle at all. I’m not sure if using BLANKETT causes any issues. Check the dishwasher fronts thread. At the end, there is a user report—maybe this user can provide more information.

Leuchte_43012 Mar 2015 13:02Hello,
I just wanted to share that I have chosen the Siemens SX778D01TE.
It is a fully integrated dishwasher.
It features the VarioHinge and OpenAssist.
Installation and integration into the kitchen cabinet ran smoothly.
No additional purchases were necessary.
Simply attach the IKEA front panel using the Siemens mounting parts (included) according to the instructions, then hang it on the dishwasher door and screw it tight. Done!
Since the dishwasher has OpenAssist, attaching flush-mount handles is not possible.
The clearance, because the handles are screwed onto the inside of the door front, is simply too tight.
So if you want to install flush-mount handles purely for the look and overall design, you need to choose a model without OpenAssist. Otherwise, OpenAssist works perfectly.
Just press briefly against the door and the dishwasher opens as if by magic. Easy!
The dishwasher itself offers plenty of programs and is the quietest I have ever had.
Strong recommendation from me.
Thanks again to @IKEA-Experte for the tips and information!

Thank you for the feedback.
I also want to buy the SX778D01TE and plan to install a Lansa handle on the front.
Would that be possible, or can the Lansa handle also not be installed because of Openassist?
The Lansa handle only requires 2 screws on the back of the front panel. If necessary, I could use countersunk screws if the screw heads would be in the way...
Best regards

Leuchte_43012 Mar 2015 17:14Hello @Sektionschef,
The space between the door and the front of the appliance is very, very tight. It is noticeably less than 1mm. Therefore, you should only use countersunk screws that fully recess into the door. This should prevent any issues.
A few more tips/information regarding the installation:
There is one point where the user manual is incorrect. According to the instructions, a 13mm (0.5 inch) open-end wrench is needed for adjusting the front feet. This is wrong. You actually need a 17mm (0.67 inch) open-end wrench.
For the (height) fixation of the door to the appliance front, a 20mm (0.79 inch) Torx is required for the side mounting. You must use a Torx screwdriver or an angled wrench here. A bit socket will not fit into the recess.
The dishwasher comes with a drilling template designed for a front panel width of 594mm (23.4 inches). The Ikea door front is about 3-4mm (0.12-0.16 inch) wider. You should use the Ikea door front measurement and center the template accordingly. If you have the instructions and the template in front of you, you will understand what I mean. The door will fit perfectly in the end.
For the installation of the appliance, a niche width of 600-608mm (23.6-23.9 inches) is recommended. Try to maintain around 602-603mm (23.7-23.8 inches), so slightly wider rather than narrower. If you follow exactly 600mm (23.6 inch) and the screw holes for attaching the door are not drilled accurately according to the template, the door might rub or hit the side cabinets when opened. Leaving a bit of “clearance” here is beneficial. Ultimately, seals fill this gap, and the side screw mountings fix the door securely so that nothing can shift.
