Maja_29199 Aug 2010 09:38I moved with my IKEA kitchen, and some changes had to be made.
For the wall area behind the countertop, I ordered the Personlig measuring panels. Unfortunately, I’m missing a proper solution to connect them to the countertop. I would like to use finishing strips into which the panel can be inserted. At the same time, these strips should also seal the joint.
I don’t want to use silicone or similar products, and I don’t like the cheap baseboard protection strips either. I have already seen such profiles on some kitchen models (not IKEA), even available in different thicknesses—16mm (5/8 inch) and 19mm (3/4 inch) seem to be standard.
But where can you get these? Obviously not from IKEA. I find that disappointing because IKEA has such nice solutions, but then these small details are terribly neglected.
Do you have any suggestions?

Maverick18549 Aug 2010 10:56Hello,
what about this:

Prevents water from seeping between the wall and the countertop.
Solid wood can be cut to the desired size and sanded and treated as needed.
Also suitable for tiled walls.
Not suitable for wet rooms.
Care instructions
Clean with a soft, damp cloth (water and mild dish soap or soapy solution).
Wipe dry with a dry cloth.
Light stains can be removed with a damp sponge (water or mild soapy water) or fine sandpaper.
To preserve the natural character of the wood, regularly treat the surface with BEHANDLA wood oil.
Product dimensions
Length: 246 cm (97 inches)
Depth: 3 cm (1 inch)
Height: 3 cm (1 inch)

Maja_29199 Aug 2010 13:09That doesn’t match the kitchen at all. My countertop is black with many gray/white speckles. The backsplash has a metallic finish. The standard trim strips in areas without wall panels will use the same pattern as the countertop. The trim might also be metallic-colored, depending on whether it clashes with the wall panels. So I need to wait before buying until the wall panels are here. I could put such a trim strip in front of the wall panels, but it also looks nice when this area is finished with the wall panel supports. I recently saw a kitchen like that in a showroom somewhere.
However, it seems that this type of trim strip isn’t something you can just easily buy.

Maja_291912 Aug 2010 07:32I would like to use trim profiles into which the panel can be inserted. At the same time, these trim profiles also provide sealing. I think you didn’t quite understand me. I’m not talking about the simple trim strips that you can find in any hardware store.
There are trim profiles specifically designed for wall panels. They have a different shape. The wall panel is inserted INTO the profile. At the front, there is still a sealing lip, similar to conventional trims. The resting surface inside the profile has exactly the width of the wall panel, which in my case is 1.6cm (0.6 inches). Such profiles must be available for purchase somewhere. They are occasionally seen in kitchen showrooms, but every time the answer is that such profiles are not available for sale.
I have also considered using an aluminum profile underneath, but that lacks the sealing lip. And I don’t want to work with silicone.
