we have been living in our own single-family house for a long time and now want to build a new one. I did not expect it to be so difficult to design a suitable floor plan. Every change affects another requirement. We are now at an impasse and can’t think of any further improvements. I hope your fresh perspectives and honest feedback will help us here.

Nice-Nofret2 Sep 2020 18:28Whether large window areas or small ones is a fundamental decision; we also love our huge sliding doors. In summer, when everything is open, you have a wonderful seamless transition from inside to outside.

Those who don’t like that build differently. However, in this design, it is clearly intended.... that sums it up perfectly. Additionally, the sliding doors face east. So, we basically need more window area to ensure enough light in the living room.Marco180 schrieb:

Somehow, I feel like a room divider is missing here.
What I once saw in an architect-designed house was a narrow panoramic window next to the dining table, which you can only look out of while sitting.
It was deliberately planned that way, and I thought it was a really great idea.
