Hello,
how can the doors of the Hemnes display cabinets (502.271.19 102.271.16) be adjusted toward the hinge side?
Problem:
After assembling the cabinet body (everything square, nothing crooked) and clipping in the door, it fits just barely into the door opening. When looking at the side alignment, there is no gap on the free side, but an approximately 8mm (0.3 inches) gap on the hinge side.
The hinges allow only about 2mm (0.08 inches) of adjustment, but in the wrong direction (increasing the misalignment).
Looking at the position of the locking screw in the elongated hole of the hinge, it is factory-set in the middle; shifting it in the desired direction is not possible, only the other 50% of the elongated hole can be used.
How can I center the door now???
Thanks & regards!

8 mm (0.3 inches) is already quite a lot. That is too much for adjusting the hinge. Have you checked whether the situation shown in the second picture on page 37 of the installation manual applies?

Hello Ikea expert,
yes, 8mm (0.3 inches) is a lot – and not very appealing
Thanks for the note about page 37/2. I’ll take another close look, but I’m quite confident that I can rule this out.
Even when disassembled, meaning when I hold the two hinge parts in my hand, only half of the sliding range can be achieved.
Or am I doing something wrong?????

IKEA-Experte10 Apr 2013 17:54More than 2mm (0.08 inches) is usually not possible with hinges.
