Hello everyone,
we are building a house and recently visited a bathroom showroom.
Since I received a consultation there, I would like to purchase the selected items from that place. However, the prices are so high that I am now looking for an alternative.
Does it make sense to buy the selected items from an online retailer and have them installed?
What would you recommend?
Thank you for your help.
Best regards.

Hello,
this is how it went for me:
- Meeting at the shell construction stage to determine the positions.
- Meeting with the plumber at a bathroom showroom, where my better half, as usual, confidently picked out some expensive items.
- Received the quote from the plumber, which made me gasp spontaneously.
- Sourced about three quarters of the items online. I estimate the savings to be between 25-30%. I had the list somewhere.
- Installation was carried out by the plumbing company.
Best regards, torsan

I received a detailed quote for my plumbing soldering device after visiting the bathroom showroom – including prices. And lo and behold, my soldering device is in some cases priced BELOW Reuter & Co., and in some cases slightly above.
The heat pump is far below the lowest internet price... so it is possible with the local tradesperson as well!

We are currently looking into this topic as part of our planning process.
We have 3 bathrooms planned (one per floor) and 2 guest toilets (one with a shower). The bathrooms are of a standard quality, nothing special on our part. The bathrooms are planned to be quite compact, only 8-10 sqm (86-108 sq ft). Mirrors, cabinets, furniture, and other extras are excluded—just the basic fixtures such as faucets and ceramic sanitary ware.
Our budget for this is 20,000 euros. Is that realistic? Are we completely off in one direction? Can you give a rough indication, like a bathroom costs about 5k or so?

With or without tiles? From your description, in my opinion, “not enough.” Try to specify differently: number of washbasins (size), number of toilets, number of showers (size, shower system or just handheld showerhead, glass [real or plastic] or open, tiled or shower tray), number of bathtubs (size, material), number of heated towel rails. Then there are things like tiled shelves and so on.
Furniture and extras might be unnecessary; at least they rarely skip the mirror.

Without tiles, only sanitary equipment. No other installations either, those are covered separately. Also no water meters or similar devices. Roughly estimated: 5 toilets, 5 washbasins, 4 showers, 3 bathtubs.
Surely mirrors and furniture will be needed later, but we don’t require those for this planning stage.
Towel warmers and similar items are sometimes included as part of the heating buffer.
As mentioned, this is just to get an approximate value, to see if we are completely off by around 20,000 euros.
