ᐅ New Bathrooms – Saving Costs

Hello everyone,

we are building a house and recently visited a bathroom showroom.
Since I received a consultation there, I would like to purchase the selected items from that place. However, the prices are so high that I am now looking for an alternative.
Does it make sense to buy the selected items from an online retailer and have them installed?
What would you recommend?
Thank you for your help.
Best regards.

The prices displayed in the bathroom showrooms were clearly undercut by all the plumbing professionals (notably those who had worked with the showrooms). Our plumber also told us that when selecting items, we can generally subtract at least 20 to 30% in our minds. Of course, this is still usually more expensive than online prices, but it made sense in this way. For example, a toilet displayed was priced at €467, we paid €300, and online it starts at €229.

I believe that depending on the size and type of the project, the showrooms want to allow the professional contractors some necessary flexibility.

There is also a fairly large provider whose name starts with "R" and ends with "ter"... they offer installation, for example.
Does anyone have experience with them? Or would you advise against using them?
Thanks

Have you ever checked the prices for installation at Reuter?

We ask for your understanding that without a prior order of the products and a subsequent site visit by the installation partner, no installation offer can be provided.

I would only agree to that, for example, once our work is completed or after the acceptance of the rough-in plumbing installation has taken place. I wouldn’t want to deal with the hassle that Siggi rightly pointed out; that happens more often than you might think.

Which provider for your personal house construction have you chosen that makes you think the standard offer is too expensive?

I’m not sure if I understood "provider" correctly... We had our house designed by an architect and have a plumber who offered the products we chose at the bathroom showroom. I find the hourly rate justified and want to pay it fairly. It’s only the product prices that seem too different to me...
