Hello everyone,
we need to start giving the electrician instructions on what to install where and how to configure it.
I could use some guidance on what makes sense where and would like to ask you KNX users how you use it. Which sensors can be used in a basic way (without advanced components, as our electrician can’t handle that, and I will have to do that myself later) for the classic applications?
I am mainly interested in the following:
1. Presence detectors (PD)
2. Motion sensors (MS)
3. Switched sockets/outlets

In addition to some extra features like timers, which are not included in a standard glass switch, the main difference is the ability to select rooms. There is a separate menu level to choose rooms and access functions such as lighting or shading for each room individually.
This likely explains the idea of installing one of these units in a central location on each floor. It is basically the basic version of a tablet/display serving as a central control unit.

Is something like this necessary? Or how have you solved such things? Do you have a server for visualization (e.g., X1, home server, smart visualization, etc.)? These usually have those functions as well.
We are using a facility server. We also have another one and an X1 running in other properties owned by the family.
For our new home, I would have preferred to choose something different. My wife is familiar with the Gira Visu and wanted it... it doesn’t require an additional app either.
Gira (homeserver or facility server) hardware is outdated for the price. You can get something cheaper, smaller, and more energy-efficient...
However, Gira offers a lot of pre-configured options.
The visualization is just one of the functions the server performs. The logic (especially when it goes beyond the logic of individual components) is more important.

So far, a server was not planned. However, I noticed that MDT offers a quite affordable logic unit. Does anyone know it? Is it any good?
And again, about the push buttons. In which rooms do smart push buttons make sense from your point of view, or where are 2- or 4-button switches sufficient? For the guest toilet, utility room, technical room, and hallways, I assume none are needed, right?
