Hello
The following question came up during the planning phase:
I would like to install the IKEA TYDLIG induction cooktop into a 60cm (24 inches) base cabinet with drawers.
According to IKEA, the TYDLIG has a depth of 51mm (2 inches). The countertop is the Akerby with a thickness of 38mm (1.5 inches).

My question is:
Do I need to use the FA185 base cabinet, where the top drawer cannot be opened, for this 60cm (24 inches) base cabinet with drawers, or can I also use a standard base cabinet like the FA112?
According to the TYDLIG installation manual, there must be a gap of at least 5mm (0.2 inches) between the countertop and the drawer below.
Is it possible to create this gap with the top drawer of the FA112 somehow?
Unfortunately, I haven’t found any information about how thick the glass cooktop surface is; I estimate it to be about 5mm (0.2 inches), right? That would mean 51mm - 38mm (countertop) - 5mm = 8mm (less than half an inch), so the cooktop would only extend 8mm into the drawer?
I would prefer not to give up the drawer if possible. Is that feasible?

I don’t have the FA numbers offhand, but they should fit.

There will be a separating panel under the cooktop, NYTTIG ... something, and the top drawer will only be 35 cm (14 inches) deep, like a wall cabinet drawer. The 5 mm (0.2 inches) ventilation gap is there because this cabinet includes a metal crossbar, so the crossbar doesn’t rest directly against the countertop like the wooden parts do.

Thank you, I always thought the FA185 didn’t have a drawer at the top but a fixed front panel.
It makes sense that the top drawer is only 35cm deep (14 inches), especially because of the cable.
I also found the Nyttig, which is included with the FA185.
So it does seem reasonable that Ikea recommends the FA185 instead of the standard base cabinet.
I will plan to use the FA185 accordingly.

Now I have a question about the FA185:
On the Ikea website, it shows that the FA185 has two full-extension drawers with full depth and one full-extension drawer with a depth of 35cm (14 inches) at the top. The two lower full-extension drawers include soft-close dampers, but the top one does not.
Question: Is it not possible to equip the top 35cm (14 inches) deep drawer with a soft-close damper as well?

Sorry, the question has been resolved.
For the 35cm (14 inches) full-extension drawers, the dampers are already included. For the deeper full-extension drawers, they are listed as a separate item.
