Hello everyone, I am currently working on a room layout using IKEA Platsa and have noticed that there are different shapes and sizes available for the PLATSA cabinets. Since I would like to have a flexible overview: What types of IKEA PLATSA cabinets are there exactly? Specifically, what basic shapes, widths, heights, and depths does the PLATSA system offer, and how do the models differ in terms of door, drawer, and interior organization options? I would appreciate as much detailed information as possible, including tips on how to best combine them.

Is the variety of shapes more useful or confusing in everyday life? I find them useful because you can cover almost any wall dimension. Planning can be complex, but Ikea offers online planning tools and the measurements are standardized.
As an addition: The Platsa series primarily includes three basic shapes that differ in width, depth, and height. Besides the carcasses that are 40, 60, and 80 cm wide (15.7, 23.6, and 31.5 inches), there are also base elements that allow you to raise the cabinet. Doors are available as classic, flush-mounted models or with a framed appearance. Additionally, there are hinged doors and integrated drawers in various depths. The interior fittings can be supplemented with shelves, clothes rails, or special baskets and inner drawers. This variety allows customization for a wide range of room configurations and usage requirements. However, when planning, keep in mind that many modules visually combine well if you stick to one height.

One should just keep in mind during planning that many modules visually combine well if the height remains consistent. This is exactly a key design consideration. Mixing different heights within one system can quickly create a restless appearance, even if the individual components are technically compatible. Regarding depth, 30cm (12 inches) and 50cm (20 inches) offer different usage possibilities, especially if the cabinet also functions as a room divider.

The height is variable, commonly 35 cm (14 inches), 64 cm (25 inches), 80 cm (31 inches), or 128 cm (50 inches). Doors, flip-up doors, and drawers are sold separately. Flexible interior fittings allow for versatile use.

The heights are usually 35, 64, 80, and 128 cm (14, 25, 31, and 50 inches) Thanks for the information, that already clears up a lot. Do you have a recommendation for the optimal height if the wardrobe is meant to be used both for clothing and for storing boxes?

There are also great storage options like baskets and special inner drawers Could you be more specific about which baskets or storage systems you use? And do they fit all sizes or only certain ones?

a recommendation for the optimal height when using the wardrobe for both clothes and storage boxes? Personally, I find wardrobes that are 128 cm (50 inches) high ideal for this combination. You can install clothes rails for hanging garments at the top, and boxes or baskets fit well in the deeper 50 cm (20 inches) version at the bottom. For boxes, I prefer fabric bins and the attractive, sturdy baskets from IKEA designed specifically for the PLATSA system. They are made for the 50 cm (20 inches) deep modules.
