What I'm wondering right now is this: In the other thread, the entire floor plan is still being discussed. So it doesn’t really make sense to optimize the bathroom here if everything might get changed anyway later.
My advice remains the same: For 5 people, it’s better to have two bathrooms on the upper floor. You can then remove the shower downstairs.

Good idea! We had also thought about that. I’m just not sure if it would involve a lot of work regarding all the plumbing, since the bathroom is ideally located above the utility room. However, we would shorten the room down to the height of the stair railing to create a flush finish, so the wall doesn’t extend into the hallway, which would take about 50cm (20 inches) from the master bedroom. How would you design the bathroom? Shower and bathtub next to the master bedroom, and the sink plus toilet near the stairs? Or would you arrange it differently? The window would then face the street or neighbors..

I completely disagree. I’m glad we didn’t have a bathtub with three kids, but a large shower instead. Why do you need a bathtub with children? I still don’t understand that. Showering is much more practical and also more relaxing for the kids.
Besides, even now that the kids are older, no one uses the bathtub. In my new house (renovation), I’m deliberately removing the bathtub and installing an extra-large shower (rain shower, etc.). I already suggested in #9 to skip the bathtub and was almost stoned for it! But I still stand by it — the most sensible solution for such a small bathroom!

You’re right. The construction company is T&M.
What were your experiences? We are not finished yet, handover is scheduled for September. So far, though, we are quite satisfied. There have been a few minor issues here and there, but nothing worth getting upset about. The company has always taken care of everything responsibly, and whenever there was a problem, they followed up. Check out our blog sometime—we keep posting new photos now and then.
I actually find it funny that they still “offer” our bathroom; I always thought we had planned it a little oddly. But seeing it in real life, I actually find it quite nice.
