ᐅ Concealed fittings for bathtub with handheld showerhead

Hello everyone,

I’m not clear about the options for the fittings on our future bathtub.

The water should flow into the tub via the fill/overflow button, no faucet. So, an underfloor installation, as far as I understand.

There should also be a thermostat installed under the wall. So I need a control for the temperature. Okay.

Now, the water should sometimes flow into the tub and sometimes to the hand shower. Here is where my "problem" starts.
I definitely don’t want a pull knob for switching.
I have already seen fittings with a rotary control: center position means no water, turning left gradually increases water flow into the tub, turning right gradually increases flow to the hand shower. That’s better than the pull knob, but still not perfect.
We currently have a control like that, and it often causes dripping from the shower or faucet after using the tub, because you would have to position the control exactly in the middle and it’s easy to "overturn" it.

Are there other options?

(My online search hasn’t helped so far. It’s always difficult when looking for unknown variants without the right keywords.)

Best regards

Hello

The OP specifically did not want this version

The OP says they are bothered that the water volume and the switching are controlled by the same button. This is not the case with my setup; there is only shower on or tub on. Volume and temperature are controlled by a separate lever. This way, water does not drip from the showerhead a little while the tub is filling.

Hello,
sorry, I haven’t been here for a while, too much stress.
@wrobel: So, ShowerSelect doesn’t allow you to adjust the flow rate at all, right? That’s why we didn’t want it.
@Kikolool: But that is a solution without a thermostat, isn’t it? If it does have one, I would keep searching longer to find that option!

Thanks to you all!

Hello,

I’m not @wrobel, but we also have a Shower Select.

I don’t find it bothersome at all that the flow rate cannot be adjusted. Our four outlets, which we control through the Shower Select, each receive the optimal amount of water.

So far, we have never felt the need to interfere with this perfectly functioning system.

Regards,

Dirk

It is best to view special fittings in a bathroom showroom, where you also selected the bathtub—don't you have one?

Hello everyone,

we have a similar issue. Our bathtub is also used as a shower. We want to control the water flow into the bathtub using an overflow push-button. For the shower, we would like a rain shower faucet with a large overhead showerhead and a separate handheld shower.

What I’m not quite sure about is how this is installed behind the wall. Which concealed rough-in valve is best for this?

Is there a faucet that allows switching between three outlets—overhead shower, handheld shower, and bathtub—but not with push-buttons, since we want to be able to regulate the flow rate?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards

Then I would recommend a built-in thermostat with 3 separate shut-off valves for each outlet. You can configure this with any reputable manufacturer.
