ᐅ Tiling work to be complained about?

Hello,
after the tiling work was completed, we walked through the house and were a bit surprised by some issues.
Now we are not sure if we are just being picky or if the work was really done carelessly. Are these defects fixable and should they be raised with the tiler?

These corner cubes are mostly installed at an angle.

One rail in the photos is also slightly twisted. The grout joints are not parallel in a few places.

And in the last photo, isn’t an internal corner supposed to be mitered?

Defects found

No real defects, just minor issues that only a professional noticed and you haven’t even spotted yet. Chiseling out and redoing would be disproportionate. At most, only for the shower drain.

It would really bother me if water kept standing there constantly.

I would address the issue and hope for a correction. You don’t necessarily have to pull everything apart for that.
Or he could sign a document that limits his liability in case damage occurs months or years later. But he definitely won’t do that.

As I always say... When using "MyHammer" or "Ebay-Kleinanzeigen" for cheap services, I expect work of that quality and pay accordingly.
But for a new build? With "professional companies"? I expect proper work. After all, I’m paying accordingly.

What do you think about the situation if the substructure was not level to begin with? Presumably, no one would have mentioned when commissioning the work that the tiler should compensate for this...?

In my opinion, the requirements for the shelves are a bit nitpicky. The situation with the shower is inconvenient.
For uneven walls, masons or plasterers are your contacts, unless you have arranged something specific with the tiler.

Regarding MyHammer: I found an excellent tiler through the platform. A one-person company. Top quality work. The advice and execution were better than those of a large showcase company in our area. However, he was not exactly cheap.

All trades are managed by a construction company in our case. The main contact person is the site manager of this company, who seems to be overwhelmed and does not follow up or possibly does not feel responsible.

I’m curious to see what will come out of the meeting.

Thank you for your opinions.

And the first photos had already been reviewed by us laypeople without any expert opinion.

In such a case, the tiler has the responsibility to raise concerns accordingly. The client can then either have the preceding work redone or release the tiler selectively from liability.
However, if the tiler simply builds on it, they must also take responsibility for the poor outcome.
