Hello everyone!

We are about to make the final decision on our exterior paint color and I would appreciate your inspiration. Ideally with the exact color code in your color system.

We have experimented with various online color visualizers. We like shades in the range of sand / greige / taupe, leaning towards the lighter side.
The front door will be dark gray (iron mica), and the windows are, as usual, white.
I don’t want a completely white facade because then the windows would have too little contrast.

Feel free to share other ideas or suggestions as well; they don’t necessarily have to be along the lines I mentioned. =)

I have another picture of our house. It is simply white with anthracite-colored windows and natural-colored roller shutters.

In general: Cladding tiles, pilasters, and other elements in white, beige, or gray can significantly influence the overall color scheme. There is a reason why we chose Schönbrunner Yellow, and when you see the original in real life, it works well. However, when we looked at our building plan, well, not everything fits stylistically. Therefore: no cladding tiles, no pilasters, no medieval fortress look. I also know a house in the middle of Franconia that we always call "Peppermint Petty's house" because it is a bright mint green, standing out among the traditional half-timbered houses. You have to like that — even though, from the outside, it’s not as noticeable as, for example, the neighbor’s house across the street.

I need to take some photos in the neighborhood. How is that legally? I'm allowed to take the photos, but generally not allowed to publish them, right? But if it's not clear where the photos were taken from, is that less problematic?

Google "Friesenhaus ruling." As far as I know, you are allowed to take photos from public property and without aids like a step ladder.

It would be new to me that taking photos of private property is not allowed, as long as no people are identifiable. After all, even Google does this extensively, and you have to explicitly opt out if you don’t want your house to appear on Google Street View.

As far as I know, there is no way to have your property blurred out on satellite images at all.

So it’s called Schönbrunner yellow. Good to know.

Well, then I'll add some color too. I would have preferred it to be more orange, but that wasn’t available in the plaster type (it’s pigmented plaster).

I find it a pity that we people (myself included) aren’t a bit braver.
For some unexplained reason, I still believe that one day I’ll build a small house of my own, just for myself (maybe with a dog). I plan to make it very colorful. I don’t know why, but bright, vivid colors almost always bring me some joy. Sometimes I laugh at myself when I see a bright blue or red house, but I still smile.

A few weeks ago, we visited the manufacturer’s workshop for windows, and I was totally blown away. I should add that I usually prefer simple natural tones, but this extremely intense bright purple wooden front door really made a lasting impression on me. I still keep thinking about that color — even though I would never choose it for myself. I can totally understand your point of view 🙂
