Hello everyone!

We are about to make the final decision on our exterior paint color and I would appreciate your inspiration. Ideally with the exact color code in your color system.

We have experimented with various online color visualizers. We like shades in the range of sand / greige / taupe, leaning towards the lighter side.
The front door will be dark gray (iron mica), and the windows are, as usual, white.
I don’t want a completely white facade because then the windows would have too little contrast.

Feel free to share other ideas or suggestions as well; they don’t necessarily have to be along the lines I mentioned. =)

I believe it was more likely this post: https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/hanghaus-in-der-suedwestpfalz-unser-hausbau-2-0.44121/post-603807
It can't be the one from May, since we chose the color in March. We naively thought the matter would be settled by April...

I also considered that but was worried it might clash with the plants, since that’s a different shade of green. If you plant them in front of the house.

We hadn’t thought about that at all. But luckily, plants don’t all have the same shade of green, and anyway, we want things to be a bit more colorful.

I also believe that I was responding more to the window discussion (color, etc.) initiated by @kati1337 😉

It’s always quite something to look back through the thread and remember all the thoughts we had. By now, I’m so used to how it turned out that it’s hard to imagine we ever considered any alternatives. 😀

I think it’s a shame that we people (myself included) aren’t a bit braver.
For some unknown reason, I still believe that one day I will build my own small house just for myself (maybe with a dog). I plan to make it bright and colorful. I don’t know why, but vibrant colors almost always bring me a bit of joy. Sometimes I make fun of a bright blue or red house, but I can’t help smiling nonetheless.

Do you think it’s a lack of courage that houses are often white or painted in more subdued colors? That hadn’t really occurred to me before. For me, it’s definitely a matter of personal taste. I also never liked brightly colored hair because I never imagined it would look good on me.

It’s similar with bold house colors. I find a Rococo palace in pink beautiful, but I would never paint my own house pink because I don’t like that look, and I think it would be completely unsuitable for the style of my house.

I really like the colors used by @WilderSueden and @Steffi33. The green will look great once planted around—it will probably enhance the effect even more. Our facade is just a plain, simple white. My preference would be something like Steffi’s, including the window trims and shutters, because I’m not brave enough to choose a truly “bold” color. Like @Tolentino, I also dream of my little house where I can finally express myself and design everything according to my own wishes, regardless of what others might think.
