Hello everyone!

We are about to make the final decision on our exterior paint color and I would appreciate your inspiration. Ideally with the exact color code in your color system.

We have experimented with various online color visualizers. We like shades in the range of sand / greige / taupe, leaning towards the lighter side.
The front door will be dark gray (iron mica), and the windows are, as usual, white.
I don’t want a completely white facade because then the windows would have too little contrast.

Feel free to share other ideas or suggestions as well; they don’t necessarily have to be along the lines I mentioned. =)

After the description, I would now really love to see a photo as well. 🙂 I like such well-thought-out color schemes.

OK, here is the requested photo. I tried to adjust the color balance to reflect how it looks in reality.

One should be aware that when it comes to colors, the transition from "friendly" to "bold" to "eye strain" can happen quite quickly. Bright red roses fit in well, but other colors really require careful consideration.
Exterior wall: yellow coarse plaster texture, window on the left, green door on the right, gravel ground.

Thank you!

I was actually expecting a wider shot, but you take what you can get.

This is still quite subtle, though—I think I’ve even seen this color or something similar occasionally. I can hardly imagine anyone being truly shocked by it...

I need to take a few photos around the neighborhood. What about the legal side of things? I’m allowed to take the photos, but not really allowed to publish them, right? But if it’s not obvious where the photos were taken, is that less of an issue?

That’s actually not shocking at all. You do see colors like that (or similar) quite often. My neighbor has similarly colored brick slips—though from the mid to late 1960s. It always works and looks welcoming :-)

I would even go so far as to say that this color is one of the standard colors of a large national franchiser with two letters and an ampersand (&).
We have it too, and it is (pretty much) exactly the color you get when you looked up Flair 152 on the homepage back in 2020 and said during planning, "I want this color, can you please find out the color code from Knauf"...

So this has little to do with rebellion and actually has real advantages. My neighbors can hardly recognize their white facade anymore because over the course of construction work a reddish-brown dust film from that awful gravel has settled on it, which is moved here in cubic kilometers (cubic miles).

On the yellow, you don’t see it—or only very slightly.

Here, "the yellow house" is a complete and easily codeable address 🙂

It probably also depends on whether the house stands in an open area or is surrounded by trees and such. New construction is always quite striking in this regard, because everything around it is small and bare ground.
