Hello everyone,

I hope you can help me with some questions about our new IKEA kitchen.

The design is basically finished. We decided to get all the parts from IKEA so we don’t get any unpleasant surprises. All parts?

No!

My wife really wants this sink:

Black square sink with round drain

It was basically love at first sight.
Now our question is: Can I connect the Atlant siphon, single bowl, item number: 202.155.23 to this sink? We’d like to install a small drawer underneath the sink.

A second question we have: We are planning an L-shaped kitchen. One side is 3.14 m (10 ft 4 in), the other 1.77 m (5 ft 10 in).

No matter how I arrange it, the "long" side ends up being at best 2.50 m (8 ft 2 in) (3.14 m minus 63.5 cm (25 inches)). Unfortunately, the countertop is only 2.46 m (8 ft 1 in). Does anyone have an idea how I could hide or bridge the 4-5 cm gap?

Thanks a lot – Frank

Hello Frank1970, personally, I would prefer 4m (13 feet) long.

Regarding the trap: other manufacturers also offer space-saving traps—probably including Hornbach, where you saw the sink.
Best regards,

... and at Hornbach, they also have panels longer than 4m (13 feet).
We also bought our panel there and had it cut to size (U-shaped kitchen) exactly as we needed it... one side measuring 274cm (108 inches).

Hello Frank,
are you planning to join the countertop yourself at the L-shape? It can be a bit tricky if you want it to be done well.
Personally, a professional would be the best solution here. With the hardware store panels, keep in mind that you need deeper ones; the standard depth there is 60cm (24 inches), while IKEA is 63.5cm (25 inches).
One more question...
Where is the sink located? If it’s too close to the joint in the countertop, there might be issues with moisture in the future.
