Hello,

I am currently working diligently on the kitchen planner and designing my kitchen. The goal is to have it delivered and installed.

Now my question: I would like to use a countertop that is not from IKEA. I will have the cutouts for the ceramic cooktop and sink made separately. Once the kitchen is delivered and installed, am I correct in assuming that the installation contractor will not install the ceramic cooktop or the sink into the countertop, nor will they fit the countertop itself, since it is not from IKEA? I think I read somewhere that this is the case with appliances not from IKEA (for example, they would not install a ceramic cooktop from another brand into an IKEA countertop).

Surely others have chosen a different countertop and had it installed. How does this work in practice? Are the cabinets assembled while the rest remains uninstalled? Does this also apply to the water connection?

Best regards,
Tina

In Austria, appliances from brands other than IKEA are of course also installed... though at a somewhat higher price. Additionally, for warranty reasons, only new appliances are installed.

Unfortunately, I don’t know if this works differently in Germany.
