Hello,

I would like to install a high-quality refrigerator in my Metod kitchen. I am considering the Liebherr ICBP 3256 but have not ordered it yet. The kitchen front is the handleless VOXTORP, and the tall cabinet is 220 cm (86.6 inches) high.

Since the VOXTORP door is not available larger than 120 cm (47.2 inches), and the refrigerator’s cooling section requires a door slightly larger than 122 cm (48 inches), I would need to use a 140 cm (55.1 inches) door. I would have to connect a 100 cm (39.4 inches) door with a 40 cm (15.7 inches) door, similar to how the Utrusta rail is used to connect two fronts for a sink cabinet drawer, for example.

My question is: is there anything I should be aware of? The Utrusta rail is about 7 mm (0.28 inches) thick; would this still work with a refrigerator featuring fixed door technology? Or would it be better to use a thinner rail, like the one included with Ersättare, which is 4 mm (0.16 inches) thick? Or perhaps a thin perforated metal sheet from the hardware store?

Has anyone had experience with this? Or would it be better to buy a refrigerator that only requires a 120 cm (47.2 inches) door for the cooling section? There are plenty of models from Liebherr, but unfortunately, none with A .

Thanks in advance and best regards,

Hello,
ICNP 3356 Premium NoFrost has an A rating and a smaller door.

Thank you, Ikea expert. Unfortunately, this refrigerator does not have Biofresh, which is one of the main reasons I want to buy Liebherr.

I just checked at the hardware store, and they have furniture connectors that are 2.5mm (0.1 inches) thick, so that should definitely work.

If there are issues with installation, reinforce the panels with dowels.

Hello,

I would like to share my own answer here, which might also help others. However, I originally asked this question back when I was active on IKEA-Fans.de.

I have now successfully installed the successor model ICBP3266 into my Ikea Voxtorp kitchen. Liebherr customer service offers a special connector for this purpose, which I used to connect a 1m (3 ft 3 in) door with a 40cm (16 in) door above it. I then installed this combined 140cm (4 ft 7 in) tall door without any problems. However, I had to drill a hole in the connector myself to avoid accidentally drilling into the handle recess area of the Voxtorp doors, so be very careful.

I installed the fridge into the 220cm (7 ft 3 in) cabinet so that the space between the two fridge doors (fridge and freezer sections) is at countertop height, which is perfect for opening. This results in the fridge being installed relatively high, but for me, this is not an issue. On the contrary, all important areas are now at an ideal height without having to bend down. There is even room for a 20cm (8 in) pull-out drawer below the fridge, which is very practical.
