Hello everyone, I hope someone can help me so I don’t have to make another trip to IKEA.
I bought parts for my new kitchen back in December 2014, but I can only start assembling it now.

Question about the base cabinet under the sink and the panel:
I have assembled the base cabinets for the stove and the sink, which according to the instructions are basically the same. On the back of the bottom panel, there is an approximately 43x6cm (17x2.4 inches) cut-out covered with a “metal grille” for ventilation. The panel to be installed on top at the front edge of the sink cabinet has two holes on each side, left and right, where the included brackets are supposed to be attached. However, my Ringhult panel (20cm (8 inches) high) has four holes on each side. In a post here by Neurotroph (21.09.2014), an IKEA expert pointed to an assembly guide for the sink cabinet where the illustration of the panel shows four holes like on my panel, but the base cabinet looks a bit different than mine. In their cabinet, both the bottom panel at the rear and the lower part of the back panel have cut-outs (the one on the back panel is larger). My cabinet looks different because the back panel does not have a cut-out, but the instructions about the panel are correct. With every instruction, something matches and something doesn’t. What is the reason for this?

Question about the drawer front:
For my Maximera drawer (waste sorting system), I received a 40cm (16 inches) and a 20cm (8 inches) wide Ringhult panel for covering. The corresponding parts include two white 20cm (8 inches) long “metal strips” that are supposed to be screwed onto the two cover panels for fastening; however, the holes in the metal parts do not match those on the panels and must therefore be screwed with chipboard screws after pre-drilling, according to the instructions. The metal parts seemed too short, and the screws too thin to hold the drawer firmly in place over time. Additionally, there is a white spacer, 10cm (4 inches) deep, in the middle of the metal strips, which is visibly unattractive from the front between the gray front panels. At IKEA, they couldn’t explain why these metal strips were included (they are also shown in the assembly instructions), as you supposedly need to buy different metal strips separately. I bought these (Utrusta, 602.635.88), which are 55.5cm (22 inches) long and much more stable. However, the instructions only show options for connecting two equally wide panels (each 30cm (12 inches)?), three equally wide panels (each 20cm (8 inches)?), or six equally wide panels (each 10cm (4 inches)?). The 20cm (8 inches) and 40cm (16 inches) wide parts I was given back then are not mentioned, and it seems that the existing holes on the panels and metal connecting parts don’t quite line up. So what are the correct metal strips? The short white ones (130511) included originally, or the new long metal-colored Utrusta ones? Strangely, the front panels in the instructions also have a recess at the top, but mine do not.

Thanks for your patience in reading this far.

Hello,

1) The instructions were drawn up for only one width or minor product changes occurred over time.
2) Initially, 130511 was included with the 45cm (18 inches) deep pull-out, just like with Faktum/RATIONELL. This was changed, and now only the UTRUSTA connecting rail is provided.
The illustration with two fronts shows two 40cm (16 inches) high fronts. 40cm (16 inches) and 20cm (8 inches) fronts must be installed in the same way.

Thank you, IKEA expert,
yes, that was possible, but I had feared that this front, after frequent opening, might bend slightly upwards due to the long and heavy connecting strip. Unfortunately, this is already the case after the (correct) installation. We will see if anything can be adjusted or improved via the sliding rails.
I seem to have bad luck with IKEA, because during my last visit I was sold a "small" drawer to fit between the waste sorting system and the sink – item no.: 302.046.37 – which protrudes forward beyond the thickness of the included white front panel, so I can no longer close the lower drawer (40 by 20 cm (16 by 8 inches) front). I fear this cannot be adjusted through the sliding rails.

You cannot adjust anything on the cabinet rails. You adjust the tilt of the front on the railing bars.

I seem to have had bad luck with Ikea, because during my last visit I was sold what was called a "small" drawer to fit between the waste sorting system and the sink – item no.: 302.046.37 – which protrudes forward in thickness beyond the matching white front panel I received, so I can no longer close the lower drawer (40 cm by 20 cm (16 inches by 8 inches) front). I’m afraid this cannot be adjusted via the drawer slides.

Is that supposed to be an inner drawer? If it won’t slide in far enough, you’ve probably used the wrong holes to mount the drawer slides. The instructions illustrate this quite well (second hole for inner drawer).
