Hello,
about 4 years ago we bought a Faktum kitchen with Abstrakt fronts (high gloss white). Since we will be moving to a larger apartment in about 6 months, we plan to move the kitchen as well and expand it accordingly.

At first, I was not too worried because IKEA offers a 2-year reordering service. However, after trying multiple times to order the necessary replacement parts from the online store, I’m a bit frustrated.

Even standard cabinet sizes for US kitchens, like 60x72 cm (24x28 inches) or 30x72 cm (12x28 inches), are not available. Drawers in any size are unavailable. Some fronts are also not available.

Is this just my experience? Or am I just unlucky checking when everything is out of stock again—since there is no pre-order option. Or have these parts been completely out of production for almost half a year now, since the Faktum range ended? If so, the reordering service would really be a bad joke.

What are your experiences with this issue?

Regards,
Tobias

Hello,

IKEA says the demand for FAKTUM and METOD is much higher than expected. They have had to look for additional manufacturers, and of course, it will take some time before mass production can ramp up. That’s why the online reorder shop states that the situation is expected to normalize by spring.

At the moment, it seems to be a matter of luck to visit the website exactly when an item becomes briefly available again.
