Hello,

we are currently building a new semi-detached house.

On the first floor, we will have a bedroom of about 10 sqm (approximately square) and an adjacent dressing room of about 12 sqm (rectangular).

We want to design the dressing room with open wardrobes.

Which open wardrobes, meaning without doors, can you recommend for our dressing room—such as Elvarli? We are looking for options that are reasonably priced but also offer sufficient quality for a new build to last many years.

Just put together a suitable walk-in closet from Pax. You can use it very well for this purpose even without doors.

Unfortunately, I don’t know Elvarli well enough.

Ikea also offers two or three series for dressing rooms or open wardrobes. Even the Ivar system can be used for this. You can add any shelves in your preferred design. Many people also use the Kallax system and simply place a clothes rail in between.

My wife swears by Elvarli, which is basically the open "wardrobe" system through and through (it doesn’t really have a closed version). But we haven’t assembled it yet...

Thank you for your messages

I am familiar with the Pax or other IKEA systems (I once read online that the quality of IKEA products has significantly declined)

However, I was also hoping that you could suggest alternatives to IKEA.

Hello,
we also use Pax as our walk-in closet. It works perfectly. Yes, the quality is not outstanding, but I wouldn't be willing to spend serious money on wardrobes that I only glance at once or twice a day.

Think carefully about the doors. Without doors, the clothes will gradually get dusty. This can be quite annoying, especially for suits and similar garments.

Best regards,

Andreas
