Hello,

we are currently building a new semi-detached house.

On the first floor, we will have a bedroom of about 10 sqm (approximately square) and an adjacent dressing room of about 12 sqm (rectangular).

We want to design the dressing room with open wardrobes.

Which open wardrobes, meaning without doors, can you recommend for our dressing room—such as Elvarli? We are looking for options that are reasonably priced but also offer sufficient quality for a new build to last many years.

We have the open wardrobe system from Regalraum, specifically the "Clos-it" series with ceiling-mounted rods. It looks great and has been working perfectly for 4 years. The prices were quite reasonable at the time, not more expensive than IKEA. We also have a separate room, so dust buildup is limited. However, if you don’t wear something for a while, it does collect dust. It is important to have a shelf above the clothing rods and to dust regularly.

I have the Ivar shelving system from Ikea. I prefer it because it is made of wood. The Pax system feels more laminated.

Ok
So, should we choose a wardrobe system from Ikea?
For a walk-in closet without doors, the Pax system is the most suitable, right?

Exactly. We also have Pax in our walk-in closet. 🙂

Here’s another vote for Pax. Above all, you can also add doors later if the dust generation is greater than expected. In the walk-in closet, we have the PAX wardrobes on one side with a depth of only 35cm (14 inches). This works better for folded shirts or dress shirts.
